As a result of a brainstorming session between the municipal government team and entrepreneurs from all over Europe in October 2023 in Ribering, Aranda Embajadores was born, a network of people who collectively and voluntarily contribute to improving Aranda de Duero, in collaboration with the promoting entities (Aranda City Council and Ribering) and other collaborators who join. In addition, there is a European umbrella through two European Commission programs that, although they do not provide direct financing, do provide expert mentoring, institutional support and dissemination: Ambassadors of the European Climate Pact and Communities for Climate.
La mission The objective of Aranda Ambassadors is clear: to activate the lever of citizen mobilization to maximize the enormous potential of Aranda, transforming it into a wonderful city-territory to live in: diverse, resilient, inclusive, supportive, green, walkable, cyclable, healthy, etc. Thus, the action will be structured around Work groups associated with important challenges of the city: Aranda Conecta (mobility), Aranda Verde (nature), Aranda Bonita (cleanliness and beauty), Aranda Renovable (energy), Aranda Diversa (diversity), Aranda Joven (youth), Aranda Alimenta (agriculture and food)…
Anyone who wants to contribute to a better Aranda is welcome. That is the essence of the Aranda ambassadors. The methodology, forms of participation and the rest of the details will be provided at this launch event that will have representation from the City Council, Ribering and the facilitator assigned by the European Commission.
