The European programme “the break” funded by “NextGen”, led by the School of Industrial Organization of Madrid (EOI) and coordinated by “The Break Alliance” (*), has selected 27 entrepreneurial organizations from all over Spain, from among more than 60, to host 720 female entrepreneurs from all over Europe, in two cohorts: one in spring (20 May - 13 June) and another in autumn (29 September - 23 October). Aranda and Ribera del Duero have obtained representation through Ribering Coworking.
The entrepreneurs will work in Ribering's coworking space on Bajada al Molino, next to Parque de la Isla, and will stay at the nearby Hotel Julia and in Ribering's own coliving. They will follow a complete incubation and networking programme to advance their businesses and generate synergies with local companies; receiving mentoring sessions, both individual and group, from expert professionals from JEARCO, FAE ASEMAR and Ribering's resident coworkers. They will also make visits to leading Ribereña companies, including several wineries.
In addition, they will participate alongside key local actors in solving a vital double challenge, defined by the Aranda-based company specialising in the field SBNCLIMA: improving the biodiversity of the territory and simultaneously contributing to rural repopulation, thereby promoting a true ecological and fair transition of the local economy. The fresh ideas and success and failure cases that they will bring from other countries will cross-pollinate transformative local projects, maximising the mutual contribution of value.
On the other hand, the 15 European women will also take part in all kinds of socio-cultural activities that interest them that our Ribera offers at that time, living a professional and personal experience that will leave a mark.
(*) For the realization of this second edition of The Break, EOI will count on The Break Alliance, a joint venture led by Impact Hub Madrid, together with mentorDay and Startups.st, winner of the public tender that was put out to tender in December 2022.
The Escuela de Organización Industrial (EOI) is the first business school founded in Spain (1955). In its 67 years of history, more than 90.000 executives and business managers specialized in leadership, internationalization and sustainability have passed through its classrooms. As a public foundation attached to the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Tourism and co-financed by European Funds, it has promoted the business projects of more than 105.000 entrepreneurs and SMEs in Spain. The Break Alliance was born from the alliance between Impact Hub, Startups.st and mentorDay. Impact Hub is the largest global impact network based on spaces, people and services focused on accelerating the transformation of sustainable businesses. It has a community made up of more than 24.000 professionals and 1.200 experts in a unique ecosystem that inspires, connects and enables people, companies and organizations to generate positive impact through their activity. For its part, Startups.st has supported more than 2.500 people in Europe to make their entrepreneurial venture a reality today, and mentorDay is recognized by the Funcas acceleration program ranking as the best accelerator in our country.
