We participated in The Break Spain: entrepreneurship based on nature and Inner Development Goals

The Break Fellowship, a program to attract female entrepreneurship to Spain, funded with funds EU NextGen and driven by the business school EOI of the Ministry of Industry in collaboration with The Break Alliance (Impact Hub Madrid, Startup.st and Mentor Day), managed to attract almost 1.000 female entrepreneurs from across the European Union to our country between 2022 and 2023, creating a community based on mutual support, sisterhood and collaboration.

NBSCLIMATE We participated by hosting 2 cohorts of 15 entrepreneurs in the spring y autumn in the 2024 Ribering, providing them with expert mentoring for the development of their business projects, support for personal well-being and enjoyment of the experience, group dynamization and connection with companies in the Ribera del Duero. They also contributed with ideas and expertise to solve important challenges in Aranda and the Ribera (climate, biodiversity, local trade...) in collaboration with key local agents: Aranda City Council, JEARCO/ASEMAR, etc.

Following this great success, with funding from the European Social Fund+ (FSE+), the EOI launches THE BREAK SPAIN in order to support entrepreneurial projects led by women, with 3 fundamental objectives:

  • Accelerating impact projects: in order to strengthen them, scale them and improve their sustainability through workshops, expert mentoring and peer validation.
  • Sorority: The Break community is based on collaboration and mutual support between women, and its mission is to transform entrepreneurship in the European Union.
  • Territorial development: Giving back is in the DNA of the 'Breakers'. Thus, the entrepreneurs will participate in activities of open innovation together with key local actors, to resolve territorial challenges.

NBSCLIMATE and Ribering We are pleased to once again participate in this transformative program, contributing:

  • We will perform online expert mentoring for 10 entrepreneurs, applying the approach of Nature-Based Solutions, according to the IUCN Global Standard to which we are certified, and the Internal Development Goals («Inner Development Goals» or IDG), thanks to a collaboration with Gloria Gonzalez Uruena, IDG ambassador, so that projects have a positive impact on nature and local economies, and connect sustainability to personal and organizational development, because change begins at home.
  • Optionally, and if the circumstances are favourable, we will invite the entrepreneurs to come to Ribering in person for a day of coexistence in which to share good practices and transformative energy.

More soon 🙂
